Sali Berisha

The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, held a meeting with the democrats of the city of Elbasan, where he focused on the economic and social problems that, according to him, Albanian citizens face.

Speaking about the situation of pensioners and the economic difficulties they face, Berisha stated that hundreds of thousands of pensioners are unable to afford basic living expenses.

"Today, not only medicines, but over 600 thousand pensioners are on partial pensions. They are on pensions with which they absolutely cannot even get two weeks of food, let alone help from their families."

Further, the DP leader focused on the costs of raising children and rent prices, stating that these expenses are significantly burdening Albanian families.

"These days, the news is being published that raising a child, a baby in the first year, requires 66% of the salary. That's why we are, we have fallen this way. Rents have reached the level of the average salary. So, apartments have become a forbidden apple for citizens."

According to Berisha, economic difficulties are among the factors that are influencing citizens' departure from the country. He described Albania as a country with abundant wealth, but said that these assets are not being translated into well-being for citizens.

"All these factors push our citizens to flee, flee, flee. Meanwhile, the country is absolutely a land of fabulous wealth. Of all-round fabulous wealth. There is no land and country more prosperous than Albania in every aspect. But all of these have turned into a curse for the Albanian citizen in one way or another."

Criticizing the government, Berisha accused the government officials of profiting from the country's wealth and raised concerns about problems in health and education.

"They have become a paradise for greedy and thieving governments, who, identically to those who oppressed Albanians for 46 years, hate the citizen. We can list an endless list of the extraordinarily serious problems that the citizen faces, for his health, for the education of his children."

Following his speech, the leader of the Democratic Party focused on what he called the need to "re-establish Albania," describing the situation in the country through a strong metaphor.

"I stopped at this presentation to emphasize that the sirens of the need to re-establish Albania are sounding in all four corners of the country. Albania is truly like a patient in the emergency room."

Berisha followed the same line, emphasizing, according to him, the need for immediate intervention, while linking this to the future of the Democratic Party.

"He finds himself with a sick person in the emergency room who requires immediate intervention. Therefore, the renewal of the Democratic Party is vital and decisive for the renewal of Albania."
