A violent incident broke out on board a Jet2 plane during a flight from Turkey to Manchester, forcing the pilot to make an emergency landing in Brussels after an argument between British passengers.
According to witnesses, the fight began when one passenger allegedly tried to take another's phone. The situation quickly escalated into a physical fight in the aisle of the plane, with families and elderly people nearby. Passengers described chaotic scenes, reporting blood on seats and even teeth on the floor.
Some passengers said one of the arrested men had been drinking heavily and was suspected of making racist comments before the clash with the others. “At one point things got serious and they got into an argument. People were scared, the atmosphere turned into chaos,” one passenger said, while another praised the crew for their “calm and professional” response.
After landing in Brussels, police boarded the plane and arrested two people. The pilot later told passengers that in his 30-year career he could “count the emergency landings on one hand” and that he had never seen such a violent incident.
The flight then continued to its final destination after the procedures were completed. The airline called the behavior "unacceptable" and announced that the individuals involved would be banned from its flights for life.
