Finally the theory is proven, the planet Mars has rubies and sapphires

Ruby and sapphires have been found on Mars. After much study and analysis, as well as numerous hypotheses, the presence of gemstone particles on the red planet has now been confirmed. Initially, small particles of the mineral corundum (Al2O3) were found near the Jezero Crater using laser beams, which is the same substance that rubies and sapphires are made of, depending on the other elements present.

At first glance, the research team explains that they were indistinguishable, but when illuminated by laser beams, these particles glowed and revealed their true nature.

The results were the same in all particles found in different areas of the planet Mars.

The formation of these minerals on Earth is a result of very specific conditions, in environments poor in silicon and rich in aluminum, often processes related to deep tectonic processes. On Mars, however, it is different, which also coincides with its geological history, and according to studies, the element corundum is formed there as a result of meteor impacts.

These events cause extremely high pressures and temperatures, which are sufficient conditions to transform materials.

According to several planetary institutes, although the presence of these minerals was theoretically thought possible, the confirmation in reality creates a great impact. The discovery is quite important for reconstructing with greater precision the geological history of the red planet and also has great scientific weight.
