Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos are the two richest people in the world, number one and number two in the rankings.
There is no sympathy between them, and this was known, they are even competitors in many different fields, up to space travel, one with XSpace, the other with Blue Origin.
But Musk's sensational acquisition of one of the world's leading social media sites, Twitter, for $ 44 billion, risks turning antipathy and rivalry into open confrontation.
Bezos, the creator of Amazon, posted a post on Twitter commenting on an article by a New York Times reporter, which elaborated on the thesis that Musk is very economically connected to China, and that this could represent a threat to freedom of expression in Twitter.
"Has China gained power in the village square", a term with which Bezos ironizes Musk's social network.
It is not the first time that two billionaires ironize their companies. A month ago, Musk wrote about the prestigious Washington Post, owned by Bezos, which is "a good place to laugh."
Musk bought Twitter for the fabulous but affordable figure from what Forbes magazine describes as the richest man in the world, with a fortune of $ 273.6 billion, largely due to his stake in electric vehicle maker Tesla.
