Unusual: The window of the plane flying from Thessaloniki to Germany breaks, a passenger almost "flies" out

Moments of panic have been recorded on a Ryanair flight from Thessaloniki to Memmingen, Germany. Neighboring media reports that an engine failure forced the pilots to make an emergency landing.

According to passenger testimonies, a few minutes after takeoff, a loud noise was heard and a fragment of the engine hit a window of the plane, breaking it.

A 61-year-old passenger, sitting near the window, was in danger of being pulled out by the air pressure, but was held by other passengers. He suffered neck injuries and minor burns, while he was in a state of shock.

Oxygen masks were automatically activated and the pilots decided to return to Thessaloniki airport, where the plane landed safely. Four passengers were taken to hospital for further checks.

Greek authorities have launched investigations to determine the causes of the engine failure, while Ryanair made another plane available to transport passengers to their destination.
