A soldier of the Montenegrin army has lost his life, while another was seriously injured during the operation to extinguish a fire in the Kuca area, near Podgorica, the Ministry of Defense announced on Tuesday.

According to the "Vijesti" report, 41-year-old Dejan Bozovic died as a result of the overturning of a tanker truck that was being used to extinguish the flames in this region. The accident happened when the vehicle overturned and slid down a steep slope.

"Bozovic was a member of the First Infantry Battalion, married and the father of four children. He had served in the army since 2006. The wounded Sergeant Iković, also a member of the First Infantry Battalion, was treated and transported for medical treatment. He has serious physical injuries, but is currently in stable condition and conscious," the ministry's announcement states.

The Montenegrin army, in cooperation with the competent authorities, has started investigations to determine the causes and circumstances of the tragic accident.
