" I have committed terrible crimes and have been convicted of several murders in the Camorra, below is my criminal history ", this is how Catello Romano begins his paper , in his diploma thesis discussed in Catanzaro prison .
The former member of the Camorra , convicted for the murder of the municipal councilor Luigi Tommasino, has confessed in manuscript two other murders for which he was never tried.
Assassination of Councilor Tommasino
In recent years, the killer of Scanzano has undertaken a religious "journey" by converting to Islam and is detained in the prison of the Calabrian capital where he will have to serve another ten years.
Finally convicted of the murder of Gino Tommasino, killed on February 3, 2009 in Castellammare di Stabia, he was part of a commando led by Renato Cavaliere, who fired a volley at the politician.
Over 26,000 Ukrainians disappeared since the beginning of the Russian occupation, among them 11,000 civilians
Tommasino, in fact, knew some prominent elements of the Stabiese Camorra, with whom he may have made pacts, not keeping his promises.
Cavaliere is an associate of justice, a journey started by Romano himself, then interrupted by a sensational escape, and never resumed.
The story of Kamorra's killer
Romano graduated from prison with 110 honors, also receiving an academic mention, explaining his conclusions with a partly autobiographical thesis in Sociology entitled "Criminal Enchantment", discussed in the presence of the authorities and the Imam who is accompanying him on his way religious news.
Among those pages, Romano recounts the double murder of Carmine D'Antuono and Federico Donnarumma, killed on October 28, 2008:
"The most violent, traumatic, irreparable event of my life," he writes, saying Donnarumma should not have been killed.
"I don't know why, I didn't understand and I still don't understand, but I shot him too."
The thesis that Catello Romano aims to demonstrate is that "crime exerts a deep fascination" on young people, reaching the point of "replacing the family of origin".
The former member of Kamorra refers to his personal story, when he wanted to be a policeman as a child.
Then, the trauma of the separation of the parents, the suggestion of a character in the movie "Il camorrista":
"In my case, the inner space is first occupied by "O Professor" and Vesuviano, which is Raffaele Cutolo, then by Renato Cavaliere, my underground friend."
Romano says he wants to start again " from the Catello that I was before everything I said" and hopes to be able to set things right, once and for all in someone's life .
