The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, received today in a meeting the three policemen who were kidnapped by Serbian forces in the north of the country.
During the meeting, Osmani thanked the Kosovo Police for their continuous commitment to a safe and peaceful environment.
"The Kosovo Police is the key institution for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the country. The institutions and citizens of Kosovo recognize your dedication and sacrifice, but also that of all the women and men in police uniform, who protect the Republic in every corner", said Osmani.
The three policemen Beqir Sefa, Rifat Zeka and Shemë Mustafa were kidnapped by Serbian special forces north of Mitrovica near the border with Serbia.
For several days they were held in Belgrade on the charge of crossing the border, but they were released thanks to international pressure on Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic.
The three policemen have thanked Osman for the reception at the Presidency and expressed their commitment to continue their commitment in order to ensure a peaceful environment and the territorial integrity of Kosovo.
