Member of the British Parliament, Alicia Kearns, has raised the alarm about the smuggling of weapons from Serbia to Kosovo.

Kearns stated yesterday in the British Parliament that Serbia is smuggling weapons through ambulances and that they are being sent to Orthodox churches. He even said that KFOR is also aware of this.

“The government is aware, with the Fusiliers [British military regiment] having just returned from serving in KFOR, that there are weapons being smuggled across the border from Serbia into Orthodox churches in ambulances. When our troops were made aware of this and tried to get permission to go and get them, the permission process took a long time. By the time he had permission - the unexpected happened - an ambulance had already gone to the church and taken out all the weapons again," said the member of the British Parliament, Alicia Kearns.

In relation to these claims of Deputy Kearns, Telegrafi has asked KFOR to take a position on this issue. Through a written response, KFOR has emphasized that there is no evidence for what has been reported, and that the MP refers to the event of 2022, when the Royal Fusilier Battalion (British military regiment) was employed in Kosovo.

"The event mentioned by the British MP refers to the year 2022 when the Royal Fusilier Battalion was employed in the north of Kosovo in support of the KFOR mission. The alleged presence of illegal weapons has been reported to the KFOR Headquarters, but after further investigations to find confirmation of this, no evidence has emerged for what was reported," KFOR's response to the Telegraph states.

KFOR further adds that there is no evidence regarding the alleged smuggling by MP Kearns.

According to them, there is no evidence regarding the alleged smuggling carried out across the administrative border line between Kosovo and Serbia in Orthodox churches in ambulances.

According to KFOR, for complete information, this type of activity belongs to the rule of law, which is under the responsibility of the Security Organizations of Kosovo.
