An American tourist has broken two ancient Roman statues in a museum in Israel, as he stated they contradict his religious belief according to the "Torah".
The 40-year-old American citizen entered the museum with a wooden stick and began hitting the statues, causing them to fall to the ground and break.
According to the Israeli press, it is a head of Minerva found in the area of Beit Shean (ancient Scythopolis), what remained of an imposing two and a half meter statue, and the head of a mythological creature found in the northern Negev.
According to Haaretz, the person who attacked the statues "was dressed in religious clothing" and is currently under police custody.
