A four-year-old boy and his mother's ex-partner were killed after police fired shots at them at a home in Illinois.
Terrell Marshan Miller was being held hostage on March 16 of this year when police arrived at the scene.
Footage of the shooting was released this month after a prosecutor found 'no basis' to charge the two officers involved.
A woman was heard screaming for help: He is stabbing me .
As officers entered the home, Terrell was heard crying as the attacker, Anthony George, walked toward the officers.
He was holding the child and a knife in his hand. The police then fired, hitting Terrell in the head and George, Terrell's mother's partner, in the neck.
Both died, Lt. Nick Goc and Officer Korri Cameron were suspended after the fatal shooting.
George had refused the policemen's request to drop the gun and release the child, when the officers shot him.
An internal investigation into the matter is ongoing, but Keianna's attorney said her client plans to sue the officers because she believes they acted recklessly.
