A tragic event occurred on Wednesday afternoon in Patisia, Greece, where a woman was found dead in her apartment, shortly after giving birth alone at home.

Even the newborn baby was found without signs of life, with the umbilical cord cut, while everything had happened before the eyes of her two minor children, ages 3 and 5.

According to preliminary data, the woman with Greek citizenship was in an advanced stage of pregnancy and was expected to give birth in the coming days.

Her husband, originally from Georgia, told authorities that he was alarmed when he could not contact her because her phone was turned off.

He urgently returned to their apartment in Patisia and saw his wife and newborn lying on the living room floor, unconscious.

According to the testimony, he, along with a neighbor, tried to revive the woman through CPR, but to no avail.

Authorities have launched investigations, and it is expected that the forensic expert's expertise will shed more light on the circumstances of the death of the mother and baby.
