"The meeting of the Chinese president with the leaders of Russia, Iran and North Korea in Beijing constitutes a "direct challenge to the international order." This is what the EU High Representative, Kaja Kallas, said today during a press conference in Brussels.
Referring to President Xi's meeting with the leaders of Russia, Iran and North Korea in Beijing, European diplomacy's number one said that what we are seeing is "an authoritarian alliance that requires a rapid process towards a new world order", which "is not just an anti-Western perspective, but a challenge to the international order built on rules".
Kaja Kallas did not fail to emphasize that China has supported Russia in its war against Ukraine, noting that all this is a new reality that Europe will have to face.
Specifically regarding the Russia-Ukraine war, K. Kallas stated that "Russia does not really want to end this war", emphasizing that for Europe this means more military, diplomatic and economic support for Kiev.
She also stated that in the event of a ceasefire, "a militarily strong Ukraine is the strongest guarantee of security".
