The number of victims has risen to 15 and as well as 18 others have been injured, after the cable car derailed in Lisbon and collided with a building.
It is said that the iconic funicular (cable car on rails pulled by cable) fell from a great height due to a broken cable. Most of it was destroyed.
The da Glória cable car, which can carry up to 43 people, is one of Lisbon's landmarks and is very popular among tourists visiting the city.
It connects the lower part of the city center of the Portuguese capital with Barrio Alto, and is the most popular means of transportation for tourists.
A witness told Portuguese newspaper Observador: "The people inside were obviously scared and we rushed to help. Soon after, we saw that the elevator above was out of control, without brakes, and we all started running away because we thought it was going to hit it down. But he fell off the bend and crashed into the building."
She added that emergency services were at the scene within five to ten minutes.
