Through an announcement, Russia's General Prosecutor's Office has banned the activities of the British non-governmental organization The Royal United Services Institute for Defence and Security Studies.'

This development also affects the Albanian academic Andi Hoxhaj, who is an "associate fellow" at The Royal United Services Institute for Defence and Security Studies. Practically Hoxhaj turns into a persona non grata from Russia.

The notification document sent by Russia to the British Institute states that: "If members and those who work leave the Institute and no longer have any formal association, they are removed and allowed to enter Russia.

The organization has been in existence since 1831 in the United Kingdom and positions itself as the oldest independent "think tank" dealing with research in the fields of defence, global security and international relations.

It is financed by the British authorities, the European Commission, NATO countries, and unwanted organizations in our country - says Russia.

"A significant part of the materials and activities is devoted to research in the political and military spheres of Russia. Russian participants regularly organize trainings and seminars where, under the guise of countering an imaginary Russian threat, they discuss the tactics of combat operations and Russian intelligence, methods of developing warfare and the creation of new weapons, the announcement says.

"Members of the NGO publish articles accusing Russia of trying to annex Europe, of discrediting the West and of interfering in the electoral processes of other countries. A number of materials contain calls for NATO members to join in order to exert the most devastating influence on the Russian economy. With the launch of the special military operation, the anti-Russia rhetoric has intensified; NGO members have started calling on states and citizens to support Ukraine and strengthen the pressure of sanctions on Russia"./TCH
