Cheap and effective - Iranian unmanned drones that "scare" opponents

Iranian Shahed drones are unmanned aerial vehicles used for military attacks and are often called "kamikaze drones" because they fly towards the target and explode upon impact.

They are manufactured by Iran and are usually launched from platforms on the ground, while being programmed in advance to hit a specific target. These drones can fly hundreds or even thousands of kilometers and carry explosives that explode when they reach the target.

One of the reasons they have become so popular is their low cost, as they are much cheaper than missiles and can be produced in large numbers. For this reason, they are often used in mass attacks to overwhelm enemy air defense systems. Russia has used them extensively against Ukraine since 2022, while variants of them have also been used in the Middle East.

Experts warn that these drones have become a problem for many countries because they are cheap to produce, can be used in large numbers, and their technology is increasingly widespread, increasing the risk of them being used in various conflicts or against civilian infrastructure.
