The meeting for the Association ends, the American ambassador reacts

The American ambassador in Kosovo, Jeff Hovenier, issued a statement after the end of today's meeting regarding the formation of the Association of municipalities with a Serbian majority.

Through a post on Twitter, the ambassador wrote that they continue to discuss the implementation of all dialogue commitments.

"Today we held a hearing at the American embassy for the Association of Municipalities with a Serbian majority. Grateful to the various stakeholders present for sharing their views and expertise. We continue to advocate for the implementation of all the commitments of the Dialogue" , wrote Hovenier.

The statement comes after a closed discussion on the Association of Serb Majority Municipalities, which was held on Tuesday at the American Embassy in Pristina.

The agreement for the formation of this association was reached in 2013 within the dialogue for the normalization of Kosovo-Serbia relations, but it was never implemented.

Government officials, leaders of political parties, members of civil society and diplomats participated in the discussion.

The US embassy said before the discussion that it expects to hear "well thought out opinions".
