Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reaffirmed today that Israel will not allow Iran to have nuclear weapons.
"The prime minister has made it clear several times: Israel will not allow Iran to obtain nuclear weapons," Netanyahu's cabinet statement said, The Times of Israel reported.
The statement said that Netanyahu, whom Iran sees as Israel's greatest enemy, "created countless overt and covert operations against Iran's nuclear program" and "led a global campaign against Iran's nuclear program."
Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Aragchi met on Saturday in the Omani capital Muscat with the US president's special envoy for Tehran's nuclear program, Steve Witkoff, with both sides describing the meeting as "constructive".
The talks in Muscat followed US President Donald Trump's statement in early March that he had sent a letter to Iranian leaders, via the United Arab Emirates, in which he proposed negotiations over Iran's nuclear program.
Iran later agreed to indirect talks.
