JFK's granddaughter, journalist Tatiana Schlossberg, passes away at the age of 35.

The sad news was confirmed by her family on Tuesday. Tatiana Schlossberg, the granddaughter of former US President John F. Kennedy, lost her battle with a serious illness just a month after making her diagnosis public.

Who was Tatiana Schlossberg?

Tatiana was not just a descendant of one of the most famous families in the world, but an acclaimed journalist and author.

She has worked as an environmental and climate journalist for the New York Times. In 2019, she published the book “Inconspicuous Consumption,” which discusses our impact on the environment.

Tatiana was diagnosed with acute leukemia shortly after giving birth to her daughter in 2024. In a moving essay titled "Battle with My Blood," recently published in The New Yorker, she recounted the hardships of medical treatments.

In her latest writing, she shared her pain as a mother:

"My first thought was that my children wouldn't remember me. I couldn't fully care for my daughter, not even change her diapers or feed her, because of the risk of infections after the transplant."

Beyond her personal pain, Tatiana used her voice to the end to criticize health policies. She openly spoke out against her cousin, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. (Secretary of Health), accusing him of cutting funding for cancer research and mRNA vaccines.

According to her, his decisions were jeopardizing life-saving treatments, including the drugs she herself had used during treatment. Tatiana left behind her husband, George Moran, and two young children.
