Nepal miracle: Two workers pulled alive from tunnels after catastrophic floods

A miracle has happened in Nepal, where rescue teams have managed to pull out alive two workers who were trapped in tunnels in the north of the country, after the catastrophic floods of August 26.

The workers were in tunnels at construction sites where dams and hydroelectric plants are being built.

The difficult conditions and the large amount of water, ice and debris have made the rescue operation extremely difficult.

According to the latest official data, the powerful wave of water, ice and debris that hit several valleys in the region along the border with China has caused at least 1,280 deaths, while more than 5,600 people are missing.
