Extreme weather with rainstorms and hail in Kosovo, flooding in several cities (Images)

Heavy rainfall and hail have engulfed several regions of the country, including Brezovica, Gjilan, Ferizaj and several villages of Gjakova.

This afternoon's storms have flooded streets and yards, while images published on social networks show high water levels and heavy hail in many areas.

In Brezovica, one of the most popular tourist destinations in Kosovo, the main road leading to the tourist center has become impassable due to flooding.

Meanwhile, floods have also been reported in Gjilan and Ferizaj. In Gjilan, some urban roads are covered by water, making traffic difficult and endangering businesses and homes at low levels.

In the municipality of Gjakova, several villages have faced heavy rainfall accompanied by hail. Published footage shows yards covered in water and large hail.

The Kosovo Electricity Distribution Company announced that a "significant" number of customers have been cut off in parts of the country, particularly in the Anamorava region, due to rainfall and hail. KEDS said their teams are in the field and are working "non-stop" to restore electricity "as quickly as possible".
