A major rift between Russia and the United States. Moscow's Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov, accuses Washington of not adhering to commitments made at the Alaska summit last year to start cooperation. The top diplomat claims that President Donald Trump is focused on economic dominance.

"They made a proposal regarding Ukraine and we were ready to accept it, but now they don't want to, we don't see any bright future even in the economic sphere. The Americans want to take control of all the routes to supply the major countries of the world and all continents with energy resources," he said.

As for the economic sphere, Lavrov stressed that it will continue its projects in BRICS with India, China, Brazil and other countries, while accusing America of obstacles on this path. The Russian minister did not hesitate to harshly attack NATO, the European Union and the OSCE, claiming that they are very outdated. He even stated that for Moscow their opinion does not matter, but only that of the United States.

"We are told that the Ukrainian problem must be solved. In Alaska, we accepted the US proposal. If we approach this as a man, which means they proposed it and we agreed, so the problem must be solved. President Putin has said on many occasions that it is not important for Russia what Ukraine and Europe will say; we can clearly see the primitive Russophobia of most regimes in the European Union, with rare exceptions. The US position was important for us," Lavrov added.

Meanwhile, Russia has not yet received a response from the White House on its proposal to contribute funds from frozen assets to the Gaza Peace Board, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed.
