Like in the movies/ A car full of money is attacked in Italy, the robbers block the highway and open fire (VIDEO)

An armored van carrying cash was attacked this morning on the highway connecting Lecce to Brindisi. Italian media reports that there was an exchange of fire with the Carabinieri. So far, no injuries have been reported.

Two people, suspected of being gang members, were arrested by officers. According to reports, the assailants allegedly parked a vehicle across the street and set it on fire, forcing the armored vehicle to stop so they could carry out the robbery.

After the failed attempt, a pursuit began in the area, with Carabinieri officers arriving to support their colleagues who were at the scene.

Authorities are investigating to identify the individuals responsible, whether they acted alone or if a structured group is behind them. The identities of the two arrested robbers have not yet been released.
