While the war in the Middle East continues and while US President Donald Trump has promised that the conflict could end very soon, developments in the region continue to remain tense.
Overnight, the Israeli Air Force attacked and destroyed the plane used by Iran's supreme leader, Ali Khamenei, at Tehran's Mehrabad airport, according to a statement from the Israeli military.
According to the military, the plane was used by Khamenei and other senior Iranian officials for transportation and to support logistical operations, as well as to manage relations with Iran's allied countries and groups through flights inside and outside the country.
Israeli military authorities emphasized that the destruction of this "strategic asset" constitutes a significant blow to Iran's ability to coordinate actions with groups acting as its representatives in the region.
According to them, this intervention also harms Tehran's efforts to strengthen military capabilities and maintain the regime's influence through its allied networks.
