Italy: Father arrested after raping his daughter for years and getting her pregnant

Italian police arrested a man living in the province of Brescia on charges of sexually abusing his minor daughter, who allegedly became pregnant as a result of the abuse.

The arrest was carried out by the Lombardy police in accordance with a detention order issued by the Public Prosecutor's Office.

The incident came to light after the child was taken to the emergency room by her mother with severe abdominal pain. Medical tests confirmed the pregnancy, prompting reports and the launch of an investigation, media reports said.

According to investigators, the child had been abused for years by her father, who allegedly exploited his position within the family. The father was immediately sent to prison, while the investigation continues for more evidence.
