Harsh political statements, threats and offensive language towards the state institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sarajevo and Bosniaks were present at the press conference following the announcement of Sinisa Karan's victory in the early elections for president of Republika Srpska.
The acting President of Republika Srpska, Ana Triši?-Babi?, has declared that her party (SNSD) has achieved victory thanks to the citizens of RS, adding that, according to her, the plans of Sarajevo, the opposition and part of the international community have been thwarted. She has called for the adoption of a separate electoral law for the Serbian entity in BiH, describing the recent electoral process as a "rape of democracy", writes the media "avaz", writes KosovaPress.
The Prime Minister of Republika Srpska, Savo Mini?, has accused the international community and state institutions of "collapse of the system", citing the Court and Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as High Representative Christian Schmidt.
The most threatening statements were made by the leader of the SNSD, Milorad Dodik, who warned of concrete measures against the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He said that he would soon propose to the National Assembly of Republika Srpska the return of all powers transferred by the Dayton Agreement.
According to Dodik, this includes the restoration of the Republika Srpska army, border police, intelligence service, as well as the abolition of the Court and Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the state fiscal system.
He also used harsh and inflammatory language towards Bosniaks and Sarajevo, describing them as enemies.
"Muslims and Muslim Sarajevo are our enemies. They have shown this wherever they can," Dodik declared.
Dodik again threatened secession, saying that the right to self-determination up to independence remains a political goal of Republika Srpska and that they will not give it up. He added that, in his opinion, Bosnia and Herzegovina is being used to “subjugate Christians.”
In his speech, Dodik also made harsh and controversial statements regarding the genocide in Srebrenica, and warned of the withdrawal of Serbian staff from state institutions, guaranteeing that the RS authorities would provide them with salaries.
In the end, Dodik declared that he would direct all his political energy towards the creation of an independent Republika Srpska, rejecting the European Union and claiming that RS has international support for this goal.
