Iran's foreign minister, Hossein Amirabdollahian, has called on Israel to halt attacks on Gaza, warning that the war could spread to other parts of the Middle East if Hezbollah is drawn into the battle.
According to him, something like this would constitute a "big earthquake" for Israel.
Amirabdollahian told reporters in Beirut that the Lebanese Hezbollah group has considered all war scenarios, so Israel must stop attacks on Gaza as soon as possible, reports Rel.
Israel considers Hezbollah to be the most serious threat, considering that the group has about 150,000 rockets, including high-precision ones, which can hit any part of Israel.
This group, which has thousands of fighters who have taken part in Syria's 12-year conflict, also has various types of military drones.
Hezbollah fighters have been engaged around Lebanon's borders with Israel, following attacks last week by the Palestinian militant group Hamas against Israel, leaving hundreds dead.
On Saturday, the Israeli military said that an Israeli drone had hit a "cell" near the border with Lebanon that was trying to infiltrate Israel.
Amirabdollahian said he met with Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, who informed him about the group's conditions in Lebanon.
"I know the scenarios that Hezbollah has. Every step of resistance that Hezbollah will take will cause great earthquakes for the Zionist entity."
With an eye on Hezbollah, US President Joe Biden has warned other players in the Middle East not to join the conflict, and has sent US warships to the region in full support for Israel.
