Israeli forces opened fire on Palestinian journalists while they were conducting an interview with a woman in the Gaza Strip.
According to reports, the journalists were in a civilian area and were equipped with vests clearly marked with the inscription "PRESS", making them recognizable as members of the media.
The event has caused deep concern among human rights and press organizations, which have condemned the incident as a serious violation of journalists' rights and international humanitarian law.
The Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) reports that, as of July 24, 2025, at least 186 journalists and media workers have been confirmed killed in the Gaza conflict.
Of these, 178 were Palestinians, two Israelis and six Lebanese.
