Doctors in tears bow before the body of the 3-year-old who was raped by his mother

Hopeless, tearful and heartbroken, this is how the doctors were in front of the 3-year-old's body this morning (February 4) at the hospital in Pagni, Greece. 

In the early hours of the morning, the process of harvesting the organs of the little boy was completed, who the day before learned of his brain death as a result of the barbaric violence inflicted by his mother and her partner.

Before the process of removing the little angel's organs began, the doctors held a minute of silence in memory of the little one who lost his life unjustly.

The little one's heart will go to Germany to save the life of another child, while the kidneys will go to Athens.

According to foreign media, two ambulances accompanied by police patrol cars headed towards Heraklion airport, transporting the heart and kidneys of little Angelos.

The heart will be transferred to a hospital in Berlin, while the kidneys were taken by a team of doctors in Athens. According to information, they will be transferred to the Hippocrates Necropolis in Thessaloniki. 

“A minute of silence” by the surgical teams, as a small homage to the little angel, who gave life to our sick fellow human beings. Heartfelt thanks to the Administration, the Children's ICU and all the staff of Pa.GN. Heraklion, as well as the First Instance Prosecutor's Office of Heraklion, for the excellent cooperation. Extraordinary respect for the little one's grandmother for her decision to donate. “We hope that this act will ease her unspeakable pain,” reads a post by the Hellenic Transplant Organization.
