As President Donald Trump told world leaders at the United Nations General Assembly that Cuba's communist government "will fall," the Cuban delegation stood up and walked out of the room.
"My administration is also seeking a fundamental change in the situation in Cuba, where the communist regime is under great pressure, the greatest pressure they have ever had, it is an absolutely failed state," Trump told the leaders at the session.
"It is failing like never before and it will fall," Trump added.
The president went on to note that Secretary of State Marco Rubio, also present at the annual meeting, is leading current negotiations with Havana: “He’s deep into negotiations with Cuba. Let’s see what happens.”
The delegation, led by Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, left just as Trump made the comments during his speech to the Assembly.
