"It was a good thing he left, he was a weak man" - Donald Trump reacts

Donald Trump has reacted after the resignation of the director of the National Counterterrorism Center, Joe Kent, who left office opposing war with Iran.

During a statement to the media, Trump was critical of Kent, calling him weak on security issues.

"I read his statement. I always thought he was a good guy, but I always thought he was weak on security, very weak," he said.

The American president added that he did not know the former official well, but according to him, Kent's departure is positive.

"When I read his statement, I realized he did well to leave, because he said Iran was not a threat," Trump said.

Directly contradicting the former director's stance, Trump emphasized that Iran poses a threat on a global scale.

"Iran was a threat, every country understood what a threat Iran posed," he declared.

Trump's reaction comes at a time of high international tensions, while positions within the US administration regarding the conflict in Iran continue to be divided.
