US President Donald Trump has sparked strong reactions after publishing a video on his Truth Social platform in which former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama appear as monkeys.

The video, originally shared by a pro-Trump account on X, is related to Trump's accusations of rigging the 2020 presidential election.

In the images created with artificial intelligence, the faces of Obama and his wife are superimposed on the bodies of monkeys, accompanied by the song “The Lion Sleeps Tonight.” The post has caused numerous reactions, with accusations of racism and offensive language.

The office of California Governor Gavin Newsom reacted sharply, calling the action "disgusting behavior by the President" and demanding that every Republican publicly condemn this act.

After the controversy, the post was deleted, but remained online for about 12 hours.

A White House official said a staff member "mistakenly made the post" and that it has now been removed.
