The leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo, Lumir Abdixhiku, and the acting Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, will hold a meeting tomorrow, August 4, at the Kosovo Assembly, in an attempt to find a solution for the creation of new state institutions.

LDK spokesperson Besian Mustafa confirmed that this meeting will take place at 6:00 PM.

"Yes, tomorrow at 6:00 PM in the Kosovo Assembly," Mustafa declared, Klan Kosova reports.

Earlier in the day, the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) and the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) announced that they had rejected Kurti's invitation, while the LDK had not announced whether it would respond positively.

So far, LVV has secured the votes to form a government, but not the required number to elect the country's president. For this reason, an agreement with LDK is seen as important for securing the quorum of 80 deputies needed for the presidential election process.

During July, negotiations between LVV and LDK were reported, but they were interrupted due to internal developments in LDK, which culminated in the holding of an Extraordinary Assembly and the reconfirmation of Lumir Abdixhiku as party leader.

Acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti has stated that it is expected to be clarified this week whether a political agreement will be reached with the LDK, while the latter has expressed its willingness for the issues of principle to be discussed and concluded within a short period of time.

The session for the constitution of the Assembly is already scheduled for Thursday, and it remains to be seen whether the talks will yield results, followed by the election of the president and the formation of the government.
