The number of victims from the massive floods that hit Greece has reached 10, while four people are still missing.

The news was announced by the Greek Minister for Emergencies and Civil Protection, Vassilis Kikilias.

"Ten people have lost their lives due to the bad weather Daniel in the country", said the Minister of Civil Defense and Climate Change Vassilis Kikilias.

"Beware of fake news when it concerns people's lives. From the first moment we inform you about all the events. The planes were not able to operate until yesterday afternoon. More than 1,000 civil defense rescuers are operating in the area," Kikilias said among others.

The dramatic situation is in the region of Thessaly, where many residents have been stranded and have been without food and drinking water for over 24 hours.

The Governor of Thessaly, Kostas Agorastos, during an interview with the Greek media, said that the number of missing persons is ""unknown".

A witness in the Marathea Karditsa area said that there are dead bodies on the road.

Speaking to "Mega" television, when asked if everyone is fine in the village, he said: "No, not here, the children were transported by boats, and they saw dead bodies of people in the water. No one has come to take them."
