Michael O'Leary

The head of Ryanair airline, Michael O'Leary, has been hit with a cake by two activists, outside the headquarters of the European Commission in Brussels.

The incident occurred Thursday as O'Leary was preparing to submit a petition.

Two women approached him and hit him in the face and head with the dessert. " Welcome to Belgium! Stop polluting your planes ."

O'Leary reacted calmly as he tried to clean the cream off his face. In front of the journalists, he refused to comment, but did not spare the joke when he said that "Irish cream was better".

On Ryanair's account in "X", the incident was posted with the caption "Instead of buying cream cakes, they could have bought a flight from Belgium for the same price".

In Belgium, O'Leary was to deliver a petition with 1.5 million signatures to European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.

It calls on the European Union not to stop airlines from flying over countries, even if they are not landing in these countries, during local air traffic control raids.
