The head of the Albanian Development Fund, Dritan Agolli, has canceled the construction of a 5-star resort in Divjaka, a tender denounced by Vox News a few months ago. It seems that the project has also had opposition in the state offices itself, since in the documents and photos published by our editorial office it did not appear as a state investment, but as a luxury hotel, which was expected to be managed by some people who were behind Agolli.
Although the name of the project was " knowledge and olive farm ", in reality the construction envisaged luxury hotel rooms, a restaurant and a swimming pool. What kind of farm would be built with all this luxury? Who would this entire investment worth several million euros serve? Local residents, farmers or other businessmen?!

In recent days, a few weeks after the published investigation, Agolli has backtracked. The Albanian Development Fund has quickly canceled the tender opened in August of last year.
The object of the procedure was " the construction of integrated model infrastructure in areas with development potential, Divjakë ". Meanwhile, the Fund wrote that with 4.6 million euros, the "knowledge and agrotourism farm of olive groves, Divjakë" would be built.
"The reasons for cancellation are due to unforeseeable and objective circumstances, the needs or solvency of the contracting authority or entity have changed ," the documents state.
It also provides additional information. "Due to the municipality's financial inability to carry out the expropriation process, the ADF cannot continue with the further progress of the procurement process for the finalization of the contract and the implementation of the project," the document concludes.
But hadn't he foreseen this process before?!
More than the attraction of the Municipality of Divjaka, what is striking in this whole process was the investment. How can you build such a resort with state money, taxes, for a group of people?

A few weeks ago, our editorial staff denounced this project, now canceled in Divjaka. " Dritan Agolli, head of the Albanian Development Fund, has turned into a real businessman, although his son and wife are in the tourism business. Now at the head of a state institution, he has built a multitude of buildings, inside which he has built bars, restaurants or hotels ," was the denunciation, which continued that the Albanian Development Fund had opened a tender with a large value for the hotel in question.

Vox News researched documents and photos that a large two-story building, with stone and woodwork, would be built on a hill in Divjaka. Photos of the project look more like a luxury resort than a farm. The resort will have hotel rooms, restaurants, bars and even a swimming pool. “ The main building, carefully designed to combine modern aesthetics with natural elements, stands in complete harmony with the surrounding landscape ,” the designer writes.
According to her, green olive groves spread throughout the area, creating a peaceful and educational atmosphere. “The integrated swimming pool and green terraces add a sustainable and luxurious touch, making this farm a unique agro-tourism destination ,” the documents said. This master plan and technical project was financed by the Municipality of Divjaka.
