MP Marjana Koçeku has reacted harshly to the Minister of Interior, Ervin Demo, after clashes between students and police forces during today's protest in front of the Ministry of Education.
Through a Facebook status, she accused the minister of starting his new job with violence against students, asking him to stop police intervention against protesters.
"Ervin Demo, violence against students should not be your first success after taking office as Minister of Interior. Stop the violence, protect students and fight the injustices that have brought those students to the streets," the MP wrote.
She described the police intervention as an attempt by the government to protect itself through force from the discontent of young people.
"Today's event showed you to be cowardly and unjust. You are defending yourself with violence against people you cannot avoid. Get your hands off the students," the MP concludes.
