For about three hours, the student protest in front of the Ministry of Education in Tirana was accompanied by strong tensions and clashes between protesters and law enforcement.
The protest began with calls against the government and demands for improved conditions in education, but the situation escalated during the rally, with police using tear gas and water cannons.
Meanwhile, the MP of the Opportunity Party, Erald Kapri, has exchanged remarks with police forces during the arrest of protesting students, one of whom appears to have been badly beaten from the footage.
He is the young man who previously single-handedly fought off six police officers with rubber batons from the National Police.
"Look how they have humiliated the students! They have beaten them and put them in police vans. They will be held responsible, from the first to the last, for these scenes," he said.
