The National Agency for the Information Society selected the company Advanced Business Solutions as the winner of the tender for the maintenance of the electronic system of visits and entry-exit in the country's prisons. The contract with a limit fund of around 590 thousand euros was won by Gerond Meçe's company with a price of around 480 thousand euros.
According to the winner's announcement, 5 bids were submitted by different companies in the competition for the maintenance of the prison visitation system, including Albascan and Communication Progress.
The first company is the one that has historically had electronic prison systems, while Communication Progress is one of the companies that SPAK says has ties to businessman Ermal Beqiri. On paper, Communication Progress is owned by businessman Gentian Likaj, whom SPAK says is related to Ermal Beqiri.

Advanced Business Solutions, Gerond Meçe's company, had been eliminated from AKSHI tenders for almost two years. Although the company competed in almost all information technology tenders, it was disqualified by AKSHI.
But this clash almost paralyzed all contracts for the state's digital systems, as Advanced Business Solution appealed every tender. According to SPAK, this was the reason that led to the seizure of Meçe last summer./ kapitali.al
