The Speaker of the Parliament, Niko Peleshi, is attempting to increase the benefits of the "fathers of the nation", who, after a salary of more than 5 thousand euros, now have the luxury of lunches, dinners, cocktails, or even trips that will have no limits.

Given that 83 seats are for SP deputies, who have a formidable majority, Peleshi is now thinking more about pleasing them and not about enabling them to work, by making and approving good laws that affect all Albanians.

It seems that the temple of democracy in this legislature will be in the service of the majority, since the opposition's numbers in that Assembly do not even carry weight. A few days ago, Peleshi opened the tender worth 100 thousand euros, but none of the opposition deputies even deigned to react.

Maybe they are waiting for a bite or a drink from Peles. Now, the Parliament is opening another tender, worth several times more, where after eating and drinking, the deputies also need travel!

Normally, even after this tender, none of the DP deputies will have the courage to denounce it, again in some hope of grabbing a free ticket or accommodation in Europe or other countries of the world.

According to documents available to VoxNews, the object of the procurement procedure is "tickets for international travel". The limit fund is 45,000,000 lek, or over 450 thousand euros. A considerable amount, but not for the state budget coffers, which are put at the service of ministers, deputies or even directors themselves.

The fourth mandate has brought about this situation, where no one reacts, and no one is even impressed by these expenses anymore. Everything seems normal, because at a time when there is no policy for young couples, pensions or economic assistance, such a tender comes.

Normally, the Parliament or those MPs should think of a policy to keep young couples in Albania, ease in housing or payments for children. They should even urgently think about the extremely low pensions, which are at the limits of survival.

They need to think about services, as hospitals have been languishing for years, where ordinary Albanians are "forbidden" to get sick, as MPs, their family members, ministers or senior directors are treated abroad.

These "fathers of the Nation" should think about all of these, and many more, and not about how they will travel, what hotel they will stay in, or what restaurant they will go to.
