Wednesday marks the end of the deadline for submission of candidacies for Director General of the State Police. More than 15 candidates have expressed interest in leading blue information. Some enter the competition with years of experience in the ranks of the police, others intending to return to their first profession.
However, some others have entered the race with accusations and public accusations of corruption, even of links to crime addressed directly to them or their relatives. Idajet Faskaj's candidacy has such highlights. Faskaj, former candidate to head the National Bureau of Investigation (where he lost in the race against Aida Hajnaj) is the brother of Besnik Faskaj.
The latter was publicly denounced by voice and image as he demanded 150 euros in bribes to set positive grades for the University of Medicine. Besnik Faskaj was charged with corruption by the Special Prosecutor's Office.
Meanwhile, his brother, Idajet Faskaj, in the decriminalization form submitted during his candidacy to head the National Bureau of Investigation, did not declare this part, since the event happened after he expressed his interest in becoming part of this Bureau.
Given that the position of head of the State Police is also subject to decriminalization, it should be seen whether or not Idajet Faskaj has declared the family member in violation of justice in the form submitted together with the candidacy.
