The Albanian 'Far West' in Athens, witnesses say: We saw a policeman
The Albanian 'Far West' in Athens

"We saw one policeman limping and another sitting on the ground. We were sitting outside and suddenly we heard gunshots. At first we thought they were fireworks."

This is what an eyewitness says of the gunfight that happened last evening in Athens, where 3 Albanians were killed and 3 other people were injured, among them two Greek police officers.

According to the Greek media, the two injured police officers were transported to the Military Hospital '401' in Athens and are out of danger.

The witnesses were shocked by the event, as they say they were scared for their lives.

"It happened 50 meters away from us. We saw one police officer who was limping and another who was lying on the ground. We were afraid that they would approach us. Some say that a store was robbed and as the police were passing by, they accidentally bumped into the robbers," said a witness.

The two Albanians killed initially have criminal records in Greece for the drug issue and were arrested this year by the police.

Neighboring media say that it is about an armed clash between two Albanian families related to the disruption of drug deals.
