Note- There is a popular saying; he started to put his eyebrows and took out his eyes. That's how Arben Ahmetaj's almost hour-long appearance on the Opinion show this Thursday can be summed up.
The former Minister of Finance came out to talk about the issue of incinerators, at a time when SPAK has a fresh lawsuit against him, which does not include the suspicions of his corruption in this file, but also the accusations of the previous file, from Abtelekom until reconstruction.
He started his speech by declaring that there are no official charges from the prosecution against him and he did not lie here, as the two SPAK prosecutors did not include in the file of the Elbasan incinerator the hotel bills that Klodian Zoto paid for Ahmetaj's vacations.
As for the invoices, there was an attempt to deny them, he later denied them, but when asked why he did not contact the hotels in question to deny the news and clear his name from the accusations, he replied by saying 'what business' I have'.
He tried to confuse the public by comparing an exchange of letters from Klodian Zoto with the hotels he had paid for Ahmatej with advance bookings made through Booking, knowing full well that the letters accusing him are not the same.
He could not deny that the hotel booking dates coincided with his arrivals and departures according to the TIMS system.
As if to put a lid on the fact that each invoice is true, he answered the question of whether he had slept at the hotels in question or not with another question. 'How do you know that I slept there and I didn't sleep in another place?', said Ahmetaj.
