Albanian farmers and livestock farmers will be able to apply from today for support measures within the framework of the national scheme in agriculture and livestock.

The total fund for the national scheme in agriculture and livestock this year will be 5.2 billion lek. For the first time, pigs have been included in the support measures.

Their breeding will be subsidized with 7 thousand lek for farms with over 5 sows. Meanwhile, support measures for the breeding of cows, small animals, financing of beekeeping, medicinal plants and organic farms have been slightly increased.

Meanwhile, the conditions for benefiting have been halved. Although it was the most requested measure by farmers, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has decided to remove it from the support scheme for this year. This at a time when land is waiting to be worked and fuel prices are reaching record levels.

In addition to the agriculture and livestock scheme, there will also be changes to the investment scheme. Up to 10 thousand euros in grants will be given to young farmers, 3 million lek for livestock farms, and 500 thousand lek for agricultural machinery.

The removal of oil comes at a time when the prices of chemical fertilizers have almost doubled, making it impossible for farmers to purchase them.
