The Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, Enea Karakaçi, stated that in order to solve traffic on the Tirana-Durres axis, the Rinas overpass will be demolished to create a new one with 4 lanes.

"We have opened the lanes in the direction of Rinas and Tirana, which were the first 6 km. I know that the funnel is being created again, but the traffic has changed. We had problems on an overpass and it was fixed by the ARA. The funnel is being created on the Rinas overpass, but the works are continuing after the Rinas overpass. Part of the contract is the demolition of the Rinas overpass, the creation of a new overpass with 4 lanes and the continuation of the additional lanes that are being worked on for another 2 km. This will provide a greater relief to traffic on the Tirana-Durres road", said the minister.

When asked whether the Tirana-Durres road will continue to be toll-free, Karakaçi replied briefly: "For the moment, it will definitely continue to be toll-free."
