The government forgives unpaid tax and customs duties until December 31, 2014

With the 2026 fiscal package, the government has proposed the approval by the Assembly of a new draft law "On the cancellation, cancellation and payment of tax liabilities to the central tax administration and liabilities payable to customs" which provides for the forgiveness and cancellation of a series of tax and customs liabilities for taxpayers, with the aim of providing financial relief to businesses and individuals.

The draft law, drafted by the Ministry of Finance and sent for opinion to the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Economy and Innovation, is expected to enter into force on January 1, 2026 and will be implemented until December 31, 2026.

According to the draft law, it is expected that around 3.7 billion lek will be collected from its implementation during 2026.
