The prestigious German media outlet Deutsche Welle has dedicated a special analysis to the latest developments in Albania’s banking sector, highlighting Jet Bank as the first 100% digital bank in the country and in the Western Balkans.

Founded by CEO FatbardhaRino, Jet Bank operates without physical branches, introducing a new fully online service model built around evolving customer needs and technological advancements. In its analysis, Deutsche Welledescribes Rino as a pioneer in this transformation, emphasizing her role in building from scratch a fully digital bank in the region.

However, Rino herself approaches this recognition with modesty, reflecting a modern and visionary leadership style:
“In general, I tend to take the view that it doesn’t matter whether I am a woman or a man at the head of Jet Bank, but rather to be the person that experience has brought me to be. I am confident that what you are able to see when managing many people depends greatly on the personality and experiences you have gone through over the years,” she noted.

The Deutsche Welle analysis further highlights that this innovation is not merely an adaptation but a proactive approach that responds to the transformation of society and the digital economy. The Jet Bank model represents a paradigm shift in how banking is conceived, moving from traditional physical-branch structures toward a fully digital, user-oriented experience. This development is seen as a clear indicator of the direction the financial sector is taking in the region, where innovation and technology are becoming the main drivers of competitiveness and customer trust.

“Now we are seeing a very good momentum for the banking system, because thanks to technology many changes are taking place. The way people react or channel their expectations from the banking system is also changing,” said Rino.

With this innovative model, Jet Bank is positioning itself as a key player in the transformation of the financial sector in Albania and across the Western Balkans. This investment comes at a crucial moment for Albania, which, with its goal of EU membership by 2030, is accelerating reforms in the financial sector in support of economic growth and transparency in the country.
