
From July 6, all immigrants living in Italy will benefit from the pension agreement with our country. The agreement with the Italian state and the relevant clauses have been published in the official gazette.
Thus, all Albanians living in Italy will benefit from the Compulsory General Insurance for disability, old-age and family pensions of employed employees, special treatment for self-employed workers such as artisans, traders, farmers and insurance for sickness benefits, including tuberculosis and childbirth, unemployment insurance.
While in Albania it applies to insurance for old age, disability and family pension, insurance for sickness and maternity benefit and unemployment insurance.
After July 6, Albanians on the verge of retirement must apply to the Social Insurance Institute in the Italian and Albanian states, making it possible to receive two pensions, according to the years of work that contributed.
There are about 500,000 Albanians who benefit from the agreement with Italy. Likewise, Albanians who retired before 2024 can apply to benefit from this agreement. So far, the Albanian state has negotiated and concluded the agreement with 17 countries. Negotiations have recently focused on the Greek government.
