Study/ Air pollution, 4-5 times higher than the recommended rate

The Second International Conference "Control of water and air quality, protection of human health and ensuring sustainable development" was held in Tirana. 26 scientific studies were presented at this conference, highlighting the state of the environment and the reflection that must be done to minimize pollution, which is in high parameters.

Professor Petrit Zorba, an expert at the Institute of Geosciences, said that it is important to consider the politics of scientific opinion for a good monitoring of nanoparticles. In this conference, the results of 7 years were presented, which according to him showed that temperatures increased by +1.9 degrees Celsius and rainfall decreased by 3.4%, which is at high rates.

"The conference is focused on air and water pollution and the reflection on human health. Quite interesting conclusions were given. The results have shown that air pollution from small particles that are below 2.5 microns have a harmful effect on the respiratory tract, but also on the heart, brain, reproductive system, etc. This is a big problem since these rates are 4-5 times higher than the recommended rates" - said Dr. Genc Sulçebe, Head, Professor, Tirana University of Medicine.

While professor Akad.asoc Besnik Baraj says that these findings and scientific works should be passed on to the local government to take them into account in the drafting of various policies for the economic and urban development of the country.
