The dollar beats the euro, the ratio is reversed for the first time in the

The US dollar costs more than the European common currency in the local foreign exchange market.

This is the first time that the ratio between the two main foreign currencies in Albania has been reversed.

One dollar costs 117.86 allek and one euro is exchanged for 117 allek.

Compared to the previous day, the American currency has increased by 0.74 points and the euro has depreciated by 0.18 points.

The main reason for the increase of the dollar has been given by the trend in the international markets, where the American currency has once again surpassed the euro, after the jump it received at the end of July.

1 dollar on the international market costs 0.99 euros, marking another historical record of the ratio between the two currencies.

Even the supply of euros was high due to the summer season, while the stoppage of energy imports from KESH, whose payments are made in euros, have reduced the market demand for this currency, even though in an auction held on Friday the Bank Central bought 8.4 million euros of currency.

The fall of the euro in the exchange rate has increased costs for local exporters, mainly in the fashion and minerals sector.

On the other hand, during the summer period alone, the savings of Albanians in banks were devalued by 20 million euros as a result of exchange rate changes.
